Disney World Character Interactions

We have seen the scope of what it means to vacation at Walt Disney World change over the past two years. Something in particular that I know many of my clients have expressed concern about is character interactions. So many people have told me something along the lines of “I don’t want to visit Disney World if my child can’t see Mickey.” Well, I am here to tell you that I am loving the numerous opportunities for character interactions currently happening at Walt Disney World! Keep reading to find out why!

Character Cavalcades or Flotillas will pop up throughout the park periodically throughout the day. I love the spontaneity of these pop ups. Even though the cavalcades take on a parade format, the characters still take the time to interact with the guests that they are passing. You can see a ton of different characters, like Mickey and the rest of the Fab Five, the princesses, and some of your classic movie favorites. While some guests will enjoy the pop-up nature of the cavalcades, you can also find their times listed in the My Disney Experience. This makes it easy for guests looking to see any specific characters.

In addition to the cavalcades, many characters have been popping up around the parks! Although the characters cannot sign autographs or give hugs, I have seen more characters out and about on my past few trips than I have over the years leading up to the pandemic. On my past trip, I saw Belle, Alice, and Winnie the Pooh! With these pop-up sightings of the characters, guests have the opportunity to engage directly, snap socially distant photos, and create those special and memorable moments. Seeing a character that you love while walking through one of the Disney World parks adds a special touch of magic to every vacation.

Guests visiting Walt Disney World will also be able to visit characters in designated meet and greet spaces. At Magic Kingdom, you can see Mickey at Town Square Theater or the princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall. At Hollywood Studios, guests can visit with Olaf and Minnie. At Epcot, guests can see Vanellope and Joy. Kevin has even returned to Animal Kingdom! Some of these character locations can even now be booked with Genie+.

I really love the character sightings and interactions that guests can now have when visiting Walt Disney World. It is part of what makes a vacation to Walt Disney World so special!
