Disney’s Old Key West Resort Review

This past month, I had the pleasure of staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. I soaked up the feel of the Florida Keys without having to leave Walt Disney World. For a long weekend, I stayed in a One-Bedroom Villa and enjoyed every minute of it. I stayed in building 63 which is located close to the hospitality house and the main Sandcastle Pool. Old Key West has a reputation for having spacious guest rooms, so I was very excited to see it for myself. The room felt enormous and had more than enough room for my family of four adults and I to fit comfortably. The room was equipped with a full kitchen, a large living room with a queen size and single pull out, and more. The roomy bathroom allowed for plenty of space to get ready. There was also an additional vanity located off the bedroom alongside a jacuzzi tub. The bedroom was comfortable with access to the large patio with seating for all. We were able to really enjoy our room on this trip.

Disney’s Old Key West is a serene, relaxing resort. It is the perfect place to unwind between park days and enjoy the Florida sunshine. I spent all of my pool days at the Sandcastle Pool. For the main pool, I was happily surprised by how peaceful it was during the daytime. Poolside activities were run daily by enthusiastic Cast Members. Guests of all ages enjoyed the waterslide (myself included!). The leisure pools were also the perfect place to decompress. There were a variety of other activities on the property for guests to enjoy, like tennis, basketball, corn hole, and surrey rentals.

There was no shortage of amazing food for guests to enjoy during their stay. I enjoyed Olivia’s To-Go upon my arrival and it did not disappoint! The following morning, we did Brunch at Olivia’s. We indulged in Crab Cake-Eggs Benedict and Chicken and Waffles. The grits were absolutely out of this world. We ate the rest of our meals from Goods to Go and the Gurgling Suitcase. We were able to enjoy some of our Disney favorites, like Mickey Waffles, and resort specialties, like key lime pie.

After my short resort stay, I will definitely stay at Disney’s Old Key West in the near future. The resort was so peaceful and lively at the same time. There was something for everyone and it was the perfect place to truly relax. I would recommend this resort for guests looking to spend time by the pool either between park days or to unwind towards the end of their trip.
